Raymond is a great place to live, with a variety of parks and recreational opportunities, several vibrant local churches, and a responsive small town government. Raymond is only 10 miles from Willmar, a regional employment center with about 21,000 people and 17,000 jobs, and has 4 high quality in-home daycares for working families.

Raymond has a top-notch volunteer fire department and ambulance squad, and is served by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's office. Raymond was the first city in the county to start a People on Patrol (P.O.P.) watch group, and the city's family-oriented neighborhoods are safe and clean.

Many Raymond residents enjoy the outdoors by biking, playing with their kids or grandkids, or taking walks around town or on our beautiful nature trails down by the lake bottom. Raymond is also home to the Raymond Rockets, a successful amateur baseball team that has reached the state tournament multiple times since 2000 and won the state championship in 2016. Residents also enjoy playing golf at Hawk Creek Country Club - our challenging, yet affordable, 9-hole public course. Throughout the year, sports teams from MACCRAY play a variety of events in Raymond, Clara City, and Maynard.

The Raymond Civic & Commerce also hosts or supports several family friendly events each year, starting with the Memorial Day Parade in the spring, a Customer Appreciation day each summer, the Raymond Harvest Festival in the fall, and the Holiday Parade each winter.
